I agree with you John. I put a lot of time and work into my group. I try to accept those that add to the value of the group and even created a blog and am working on lensographies for the group. I have done quite a bit to try to promote lenses in...

Good afternoon, Joan. I don't know that I invested a lot of time in those groups, but I was careful to admit only lenses that were specifically related to the group. I liked some of the automated features of groups, such as the latest lenses and...

I try to be positive most of the time and I look for the good in most things. I've tried to do that with the recent change Squidoo made when they converted all the remaining groups to regular lenses. In this case, I just can't find the positive s...

How did you find our Squidoo Marketing community
I created it. Then I deleted it. Then I created it again. That's enough.
What is your favorite joke - keep it clean!
What do you call a boomerang that doesn't come back when you throw it?

A stick.
Why do you use Squidoo.com for marketing?
Because it is easy to create a web page about any topic and add information and interactivity to it.

It's also effective and I love it when Squidoo puts money in my PayPal account.

A little more about John Dilbeck

I run my home business, Dilbeck Marketing, from a small cabin in the mountains near Murphy, NC - about 100 miles from the nearest traffic jam and much closer than that to the Great Smoky Mountains.

Working at home gave me the freedom to be the full-time caretaker for my elderly mother so she didn't have to go into a nursing home.

Although that was true for over six years, unfortunately Mom's health declined rapidly in August and she had to be hospitalized and then transferred to a nursing home. Fortunately, she received excellent care for the last three months of her life. I miss her.

Still, working at home made it possible to care for her as long as i could.

Giant Squid

I'm happy to have been selected as one of the original Giant Squids and maybe one of these days I'll learn the art of making great lenses that lots of people want to visit.

Squidoo Marketing Community needs a sponsor...

Good morning, fellow lensmasters.

I had hoped I would not have to make this announcement/request, but the time has come where I have to.

I need to find a sponsor for this community to cover the costs, or I may have to look for a buyer.

Since last September, my business has taken a real hit and I'm in a cashflow crunch right now.

Since I re-opened this community a few months ago, I've been paying Ning.com $25 per month to be able to post commercial links on the community and to control the ad… Continue

I think I am falling out of love with Squidoo, at least a little

I just realized that I haven't updated any of my lenses in awhile.

Part of the reason is that I'm busy planning a new marketing site to promote local businesses in Murphy, NC, and it's taking a lot of time.

Part of the reason is that I'm seeing other lensmasters who have been having problems with their lenses after publishing an update and tripping one of Squidoo's filters. I think this has been resolved now, but it s… Continue

Thanks, John. Yes, you're right about the Chapel Hill lens. I envy you, I would love to live in the mountains. I'm hoping to learn more to make some money with Squidoo.

Hi John,
So nice of you to send me a message.
I work from home full-time and Ive been feeling like Im doing my Squidoo'ing in total isolation ! I seem to be split into 2 with Squidoo. One is that Im writing lenses to promote my website and two I was hoping to make money from affiliate links by using the same lenses but feeling that I cant combine the two as the soft toy market and associated keywords dont contain enough internet traffic to make any money as there are not enough people searching for the keyword terms. (Im on Googles first page for "soft toys" and I get no clicks !)
I joined click bank and got a bit of a shock as they dont seem to selling actual physical products like Amazon does, it looks like its pie in the sky stuff I have to write lenses about like how to groom your dog. Ive paid for some Potpiegirl information. But Im feeling all very lost. I feel that nothing is working. I do get about 35 clicks a week on my best lense soft-toy-dogs,
but is that good ? Trying to fathom out how to make a regular income, appreciating that you need a lot of lenses to total up the income, but looks as if I need 2 styles of lenses on the go.

Thank you for your greeting, John! It is all a bit crazy for me right now too. I am captain of the Jolly Judicious Jetsetters, and a Squid Angel. and trying to build lenses that actually sell products...........so I feel like I am flying and behind constantly!

Rainy here today too! I know a good nap is on my list!

and yes, anytime you want to do the article, we will be ready. Nancy did become a giant, but we still don't have sister betty on Squidoo! lol

I'm not a Netflix member. I'm a Spiritual Cinema Circle member, and I'm several months behind on that one.

You know what's driving me crazy is Lost. I didn't watch the first 3 years of that and then I got hooked on it last season. So I'm watching the reruns from the first year to try to catch up.

I'll put SG on my list! I always seem to have more time for that in the winter months,
