How did you find our Squidoo Marketing community: I created it. Then I deleted it. Then I created it again. That's enough.

What is your favorite joke - keep it clean!: What do you call a boomerang that doesn't come back when you throw it?

A stick.

Why do you use Squidoo.com for marketing?: Because it is easy to create a web page about any topic and add information and interactivity to it.

It's also effective and I love it when Squidoo puts money in my PayPal account.

A little more about John Dilbeck

I run my home business, Dilbeck Marketing, from a small cabin in the mountains near Murphy, NC - about 100 miles from the nearest traffic jam and much closer than that to the Great Smoky Mountains.

Working at home gave me the freedom to be the full-time caretaker for my elderly mother so she didn't have to go into a nursing home.

Although that was true for over six years, unfortunately Mom's health declined rapidly in August and she had to be hospitalized and then transferred to a nursing home. Fortunately, she received excellent care for the last three months of her life. I miss her.

Still, working at home made it possible to care for her as long as i could.

I'm happy to have been selected as one of the original Giant Squids and maybe one of these days I'll learn the art of making great lenses that lots of people want to visit.

New feature: like buttons on blog posts

A few minutes ago, I added two new buttons on your blog posts.

There is a Ning like button that looks like a heart (at the bottom of the blog post) and a Facebook like button after the two share buttons.

The Facebook like button is just like you'll see all over the web.

This only applies to photos, videos, and blog postings. Since video and photo uploads are disabled on this community, this will only apply to blog posts.

Yikes! No internet connection!

Good morning.

We had a big storm come through Murphy on Monday morning and it decided to knock down quite a few trees.

One of those trees fell right across the lines that gave us electricity and Internet access.

The power was restored a few hours later (yippee!), but the fiber optic cable was broken and we're still waiting for the repairs to be completed so I can live on the Internet,…
